Uniquely Focused on Older Adults
Balance & Beyond is a unique in-home balance, stability and strength exercise program for older adults. Our program is designed to improve balance, joint stabilization, coordination and overall kinesthetic awareness. Balance & Beyond aims to improve long-term functional fitness to help individuals live an active, long, high-quality life.
The concept of Balance & Beyond was developed by Leslie Folkes, a certified personal trainer, and inspired by many years of working with older adults in her personal training studio. In her experience, Leslie has helped many individuals who have initially been a bit afraid of the term “personal trainer”, to go from living heavily sedentary lives to gradually improving their balance and overall fitness, allowing them to be more active and fully enjoy their lives.
Leslie founded Balance & Beyond in 2017 with her partner and friend Jodi Hill, who met Leslie when she became a personal training client. Jodi sought out Leslie when she realized that her own fitness was no longer a matter of just looking great, but also a way to stay active and fit as long as possible. Jodi also has a passion for health and fitness, so it was a match made in the gym!
